This is a team report for the ?Mexico mission. I do not know why I haqd to do it - typing with one working hand on painkillers is not easy.

Overall, as you know, it was ba success. Scott is well snd we handed a number of Preserver prisoners to the government, We dropped them off - lietrally, as we could not land - at the airfiekd where Cooper was waiting.

the reason we could not land is thta the Blackbird will be needing some repair. Julio's post, unforunateky, was not an exaggeration. Also, Jinasena, the bombmaker, was killed in the pocess of reversing what he did to Scott. There was nothing anyone coyld have dione about it.

Finally, |I am not sure whart Cable calls go-pills should be part of the Blackbird's medical kit in future, especiallly for psis. H|e was a little... off on the way back.

And now the real state of things.

Scott did in fact have a powers accident this morning. Both Jean and myself found him in his office after the wall exploded. After a visit to the infirmary it was decided he would be moved off-site for further observation. The reason for this is that we have cause to believe that during our mission taking the Preservers into custody, he was affected by the same mutant who has caused the explosions of the mutant 'bombers'.

What exactly this means is as of yet unsure: Scott is under observation now at a government facility while Jean, Moira, and Hank (among others) try to figure out the best course of action. Nothing has been concluded yet, and I will keep you updated on the state of things.

Also, because of the state of Scott's office, I will need to contact a contractor to begin repairs. I will do that... later.

Please do not spread this information around the school; there is no need to cause the students to panic. Please direct them to me or Charles if they have any questions. Thank you.

Portugal...

We're later than we expected, getting back - had to stop and drop off some of our unwilling passengers to Val Cooper, who should really thank me for having given her a heads-up while we were still in Portugal to expect some fairly powerful mutations needing containing. Happily, none of them were showing any of the symptoms of the kid in Maine that Jean saw, but they're all going to have to be checked out anyway. And interrogated.

For those of you who held the fort here - everyone who went is pretty much intact (although if I can move around comfortably in the morning I'm going to be surprised. I hate being thrown into walls). We brought back six, lost maybe another four that escaped. The terrain was conducive to fleeing.

Although they put up one hell of a fight - a serious fight, by any stretch of the imagination. I don't think we could have been dealing with cannon fodder or would-be bombers here - I'm betting these were core members of the group. Anyone else get the same impression?

We've come into the possession of information about a Preserver cell in Portgual. The decision has been made to take the cell into custody, and as we are particularly well-suited to handle this situation, we will be departing as soon as possible. Time is of the essence. Rogue, Sunfire, Wolverine, and Phoenix, please suit up and report to the hangar immediately.

I have to go pick up Jean. She headed out earlier - Val Cooper called, asking for her help on something. I'm not sure what happened, but she's okay. Just called and asked me to pick her up at the airfield.

Whatever it was, it's not something that needs us tonight - she was clear on that much. So I guess... if need be, I'll fill you all in tomorrow morning?

I'm going to have to take myself off active duty - let's say, for the next two weeks. Having missed a week's worth of training is the least of it; I'm going to be back in Tel Aviv at least once in the next couple of weeks, which would just mean further disruption to the rotation. I'm behind with my class, Elpis is still going to be demanding a lot of my attention, and frankly, I feel worse than I did two weeks ago when I was already recognizing that I needed some recuperation time I hadn't given myself.

If I'm here and I'm needed... well, I'm here. But I'm hoping that's not going to be the case.

You might want to turn it on.

I'm on the newsfeeds - don't worry, I'm recording it all.

All right.

I think we need to be more than usually rigorous about the newsfeed-monitoring for the next few days. Even if there are no more of these bombings, reactions could be unpredictable. We need to stay alert, in case we're needed, and we need to be keeping an eye on potential trouble spots as they develop.

I have no problem doing the late-night watches, but I'll need enough volunteers to make sure the job's covered 24/7 at least through the weekend. We can reassess at the start of the week, depending on what develops.
