Salaam!

It seems that our Fearless Leader has decided that it's time for another exciting round of Learn To Fly The Jet! I'll be teaching the course this time around, as Fearless Leader has decided that he needs to keep a very close eye on Horatio The Roomba-Loving Turtle. So any of you who would like to learn how to fly the jet (trainees, I am looking at _all_ of you) or would simply like a refresher course please let me know by end-of-week.

The more people who can take her up and put her back down again that we have, the more operational flexibility we have in case of injury, vacation, downtime, precognitive chocolate fits, swimming pool inhalation, or brain-sprains.

Sign me up. Obviously, I've done most of my flying in helicopters - I think I'm functionally qualified on about a dozen different models - but I have done a limited amount of work with jets, too. I've even flown a standard Blackbird a couple of times. And yes, Haroun, I know that the standard model bears very little resemblance to our souped-up Bettie.

Sounds good. And hey, even if I turn out to suck at it, I can still pick up the 'Bird and put it down, if called upon to do so.

Hah. Watching my turtle, right... you bastard.

Of course, I did stick you with the job, so if this is the best you can come up with in terms of payback, have at it.

I keep promising you that and never deliver. I suppose I should really fix that.

How's tomorrow evening sound?

Also, if you have too many volunteers and trouble fitting them all into your schedule, I'm more than willing to help out with the training.

Works for me. I suspect with the learning curve, beginner lessons are going to take more of a significant chunk of time on an individual basis than the advanced students, so splitting them up probably makes sense.

We've already talked about it, but making things as official as things can be, here...

And say - how many classes/whathaveyou/time involvement a week are we looking at here?

Hrm. If you need a guinea pig to go over the class format with, I could help there? Not much else I can do though, I'm afraid... other than learn well and quickly. :)

...

I get to touch the pretty girl? For real? You're going to let me touch her?

And maybe... fly? Fly her? Fly the Blackbird? At some point?

I think my heart has stopped. Or speeded up to the point where I no longer have a readable heartbeat.

No drooling. Awed staring. I mean... They broke the molds for SR-71's. They're all in MUSEUMS. I mean, yes, the X-15 is faster, but it's rocket powered and oh my god Mach 3.

You're my new favourite.

Color me very excited and there with bells. In case you missed it. With a temporary memory loss, perhaps.

I'll go now. Thank you.

*raises hand* Not that I can't take her up and down without using the controls but you tend to turn purple when I suggest it.

Hey, now, I did ask to learn it the proper way, didn't I? Don't I get points for that?

Polaris

P.S. Have a little faith in my ability to shield, yo?

I've never 'wrassled' anything in my life. It doesn't sound sanitary.

How many points?

Ah, but I mock with love!

Also, I made cake. Do I get points back?

And here I thought you'd give me a challenge. Just hummus and crudite?

She needed to be denied sushi. It was a matter of honor.

However, you may escape her by joining me for hummus, crudite and tea.
