Hi from your newest trainee, I guess. Um, wow, that sounds weird even though I talked to the Professor and lining up my ducks in a row completely. So, hi?

We could call you "Pants on fire" for old time's sake.

Or how about "Gropey?"

He was the eighth dwarf, you know.

This I vote for. It possesses a certain truth to it. After all, she did indeed set my pants on fire, and that of who knows how many more hapless victims.

Let this name serve as a warning to our enemies.

"Come, Pants On Fire! Leave no undergarment uncharred!"

It could totally be her Indian name anyway.

It is a bit of a mouthful. I suppose we could shorten it to "Fire Pants" . . . then again, the implications conveyed might be slightly different.

Says the guy whose trainee name was "Chupacabra"

(And I almost said "That's what she said!" Aren't you proud of me, honey?)

I'll have you know there is a long, fine cultural and mythological justification behind the allotment of Chupacabracadabra. It just does not happen to be one I as an Australian actually know.

(I am indeed proud. Or was, until I realized that to do so would have served as a backhanded compliment to myself, no doubt making the act of charity just the slightest bit easier to bear.)

Yes yes, who can forget the proud tradition of the goat-sucker.

Do you people even have goats in Australia? What would a chupacabra be there? Dingo-sucker? Kookaburra-sucker? Dugong-sucker?

(I'm glad you're happy)

You are aware of Laurie's ultimate designation, right?

Ah. Well, my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I do believe it was, oh, what did we decide . . .

Ah yes. "Discharge."

I must also point out that she named herself.

Moi? Oh, no, see above. I had nothing to do with it; mine is a conscience clear as the driven snow.

(In this instance.)
