My preliminary report on what happened in Hungary is in the database. Basically, we stopped an assassination attempt and managed to take a significant number of would-be assassins into custody. And Ororo has her powers back, so let's pause for a moment to appreciate the one bright spot in this mess.

As for Chechnya. Neither Jean nor Nathan is in any shape to report this just yet, so you get my summary. They found Tara Trask, the astral-travelling history professor who threw Nathan for a loop back in the summer, in Chechnya with Saidullayev. Apparently the two lunatics have decided to join forces, be even crazier, and start trying to off mutant world leaders. They're not only responsible for the attack on Prime Minister Barath, but apparently Trask had William Moses sprung from jail and sent him after T'Challa back before Christmas.

Now, obviously the question is why is a history professor teaming up with a psychotic Chechen telekinetic to commit political assassinations, and best as I can figure out, the answer is apparently that they're both crazy. I'm sorry, I'm hungover. But seriously, they're lunatics. It's some sort of Askani-inspired Darwinist anarchist Gideon Faraday-ish mutant supremacist trip. Which would probably be comical if he couldn't blow up cities and she wasn't able to hop into people's minds and manipulate them on the subconscious level.

(Speaking of Gideon Faraday, his former chief of security is now Barath's. Chief of security. Someone needs to look into that.)

Anyhow, clearly we have a problem here. I will be dipped in shit if I have any idea tonight what we're going to do about it, apart from notifying our government that the Chechnya trip was a set-up and how, notifying the Hungarians that the people who just tried to kill their Prime Minister were obsessed with a misinterpreted philosophy from two thousand years in the future, and having all of the usual associated "We have a threat, could you keep an ear out for us?" talks with relevant parties.

And I am never, ever drinking in an Eastern European country again.
