Mission report

Mission:
Primary objective - Retrieve Eliane Courchesne from her family's farmhouse outside Toulouse, France.
Secondary objective - Familiarize Vision with the Blackbird and student retrieval procedures.

Team: Cyclops (lead), Cannonball, Nightcrawler, Vision (trainee)

Mission status: Completed successfully.

Summary:

We took the Blackbird to France. No difficulties with French authorities. Vision was brought along for several reasons: in case translation was needed, and also as an example of one of the students Eliane would be studying with.

Arrival went smoothly, and we were answering a few more questions the Courchesnes had about Xavier's, when Eliane's older brother Fabrice returned home suddenly. Fabrice (who is also a mutant, new entry in database) believed that his sister had no need to go to an overseas school, as he had learned to control his powers on his own, and believed that he could teach her to control her powers, even though he had had no success to date. While Cyclops attempted to calm Fabrice, he turned violent and used his powers (some sort of super-speed, as well as the ability to cause small explosions when punching someone) to knock Cyclops into a china cabinet, breaking his glasses and taking him effectively out of the tactical situation.

Myself and Nightcrawler moved the confrontation quickly outside to minimize property damage. I traded blows with Fabrice, who also is apparently invulnerable. Since neither of us could affect the other, I attempted to let him vent his frustration, but he appeared unwilling to calm down. Nightcrawler was able to use multiple teleports to overwhelm Fabrice's inner ear, ending the conflict without any injuries other than the minor cuts and bruises Cyclops suffered.

After the confrontation had settled, Eliane proceeded to lecture her brother extensively on his behavior and returned to the mansion with us.

Special note: Vision handled herself very well in a tense situation, obeying orders and ensuring that Cyclops was not seriously injured while Nightcrawler and I handled Fabrice.
