Because you think Pietro might betray us - despite the fact that the Professor, Ororo and I have all vouched for him - you're going to take yourself off active duty because you might, at some point, find yourself fighting beside him. So the chance of betrayal, however slim, is more of a concern to you than supporting your teammates.

Yeah. He didn't act when he should have. As I understand it, the disadvantage of being a double-agent is that you can't always do what you want to do because it'll compromise you. If you aren't willing to do that you don't take that job.

Do you think maybe there's a reason he switched out of that role?

I can recall some of his. It was that bar in Winnipeg that served these drinks in moose shaped glasses. My hand to God, moose shaped. Anyhow, Logan had, like, six of them, bragging about his healing factor and bam! Out like a light. Must have been passed out for at least five minutes, no recollection afterwards.

Which is why Marie and I refer to his lost years as 'being moosed'.

Yeah, see, I'm less impressed by that. If he was having moral issues with his father, he should have been talking to the FBI or Interpol. If he had, maybe a good chunk of San Diego might still be standing.

If you want to show remorse for your actions, you turn yourself in, trust in the authorities to make the best use of what you can give, and hope for clemency. If you stay on the run until they're willing to broker a deal for intelligence, then you're just holding out for the best offer.
