We're going to have a Maximoff on the team again. Ororo and I will be planning the necessary training for Pietro, and you can expect to see him added to the Danger Room rotation very soon.

You can try and give him a trainee name, but I'll tell you right here, I doubt it will stick.

Are you NUTS?

You're not seriously letting this guy onto the team, are you?

He turned his coat once. He'll do it again. First rule is that you do NOT trust double agents ever again. You get what you want from them and cashier them. You don't send them back to the front lines again.

I don't care what Chuck and the big-brain club says. I don't like this. It stinks.

Bad call, Summers.

"Quicksilver" will be fine. I'm used to answering to it in the field, and Summers' doubts are well-founded.

Oh, there's the hostility. I'd missed it so.

Genocide isn't in any danger of finding itself in the X-Men operational manual, is it, Summers?

I got a good trainee name for ya.

Quisling.

I suppose it's marginally more imaginative than "Wheels" . . .

From: [identity profile] x-wolverine.livejournal.com
Yeah.

That's becoming pretty obvious.

When ... not if, when ... this comes back to bite you, don't say I didn't tell you so.

Don't team me with him. I don't trust him.

There's a list for compatability. I'm okay with Pietro on the team.

But I won't offer any more suggestions for trainee names.

Bench my ass, then.

I will not work with that man.

How many times do I gotta tell you?

You. Do. Not. Trust. Double. Agents.

EVER!

He will stab you in the back. Just wait.

Can we call him Flit? Like the hummingbird? Oh! HUMMINGBIRD!

Fast as he is, he's likely to actually just stab us in the front.

What's your problem, Wolverine? If I can manage, shouldn't you be able to?

As opposed to the leg?

You can call me whatever you like as long as you understand I'll only be answering to Quicksilver.

Dane, you're a bigger idiot than Summers is if you _buy_ this ridiculous crap.

This guy kept you in Hell until _he_ could find the time in his busy save-my-own-ass schedule to get around to telling the rest of us where to find you.

25 days, point of fact. We had a chat about it earlier today.

I'll tell you like I told him. His father kept me in hell. His brotherhood kept me in hell. Pietro did nothing. Quite literally nothing. If we're blaming people for not acting, then I'm just as guilty.

So you're cool with the idea that he just sat back and watched you get yourself eight different kinds of fucked-up in the head?

From: [identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com
I think maybe those of us who've actually attacked our own teammates before and got a second chance don't have a lot of room to deny a first chance.

As you say, I got myself eight different kinds of fucked up in the head. So I prefer to save my blame for me. I'm very bad at sharing.

Besides, when it comes to dangerous elements...we let you hang around, don't we? And you've vastly less self-control.

You. Don't. Trust. Double. Agents.

It's a truism for a _reason_. Guy left Lorna to rot until he felt like getting off his supersonic ass to do something about it.

Now, I may not be Lorna's biggest fan ever but that shit ain't right.

Now he claims he's on our side, wants to fight the good fight?

Where was he when Lorna was off rotting in that hell of hers? Where was he when his old man tried for the snatch-and-grab with Miles? Where was he when Magneto tried to kill every man, woman, and child on the planet?

Date: 2007-02-27 04:24 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-ccelerate.livejournal.com
You know, I get that a lot.

How many times have I betrayed everything the team stands for?

Oh, that's right. Zero. Which is more than Quisling here can say.

Question my sanity all you want. Feel free to sneer at the way I lead my life.

But you _do not_ get to question my dedication. Ever.

I'll go anywhere I'm needed, do whatever is needed.

Just not with that Quisling.

You send me out with him, someone ain't comin' back home in one piece. And I'm sure he'll have a sweet little tale to tell about what supposedly happened.

Precisely as many times as has Pietro.

I don't believe I called you wishy-washy. Just possessed of poor impulse control. Really poor impulse control.

On the other hand, if he does betray us, just like if you did...his father taught me several tricks.

Wrong.

Pietro's already been on the wrong side once. Now he thinks he wants to be on our side.

He may have the big brains fooled, but I'm not buying it.

Date: 2007-02-27 04:29 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com
Yeah. He didn't act when he should have. As I understand it, the disadvantage of being a double-agent is that you can't always do what you want to do because it'll compromise you. If you aren't willing to do that you don't take that job.

Do you think maybe there's a reason he switched out of that role?

From: [identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com
As well all know, once you go to the dark side, you can never go back. Please do tell us about how you have been naught but noble, kind and righteous all your living days...

Oh, wait. You can't recall all your living days, can you?

By the way, in addition to sitting with Charles, need you down in the medlab for a basic check-over. We both already know you'll pass it, so just come and go through the motions with me so I can get your file up to date.

Welcome to the team.

Because he finally got offered a deal that granted him immunity from prosecution for the lifetime of terrorism?

From: [identity profile] x-dominion.livejournal.com
I can recall some of his. It was that bar in Winnipeg that served these drinks in moose shaped glasses. My hand to God, moose shaped. Anyhow, Logan had, like, six of them, bragging about his healing factor and bam! Out like a light. Must have been passed out for at least five minutes, no recollection afterwards.

Which is why Marie and I refer to his lost years as 'being moosed'.

Date: 2007-02-27 05:54 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-bamf.livejournal.com
As I understand it, that deal was offered after he broke his cover with his father, and certainly after acting as the team's inside man for some considerable time at risk of his own life.

From: [identity profile] x-bamf.livejournal.com
You cannot betray what you do not belong to. Would you rather he had not betrayed his father and the Brotherhood for us?

Date: 2007-02-27 07:20 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-dominion.livejournal.com
Yeah, see, I'm less impressed by that. If he was having moral issues with his father, he should have been talking to the FBI or Interpol. If he had, maybe a good chunk of San Diego might still be standing.

If you want to show remorse for your actions, you turn yourself in, trust in the authorities to make the best use of what you can give, and hope for clemency. If you stay on the run until they're willing to broker a deal for intelligence, then you're just holding out for the best offer.

And it's the height of stupidity to take Mr Best Deal Available and _throw him back out into the field_ where he can wait for his next best deal at _our_ expense this time.

I'm really serious though...is he going to arrest us all when he figures it out? He can't arrest me. I'm an Irish citizen!
