If I may be so bold as to make a suggestion, perhaps you would have better luck with the glue traps if you avoided falling into the pit.

You'd think from the way people carry on that the pits were voracious Venus flytrap things. Unavoidable, inevitable, and all that.

This would not be the time to mention, then, that I have trained with the pits before? Not so different than the crevasse patch on the glacier that we used at home--actually, I find it relaxing without the drop of unknown hundreds of feet into the glacier's heart.

Which is why Scott pits me against the gun turrets when it is my turn for the stretching of limits. On those days, I find that my command of English does not extend nearly far enough toward the profane.
