So I'm still reading old mission reports now and then . . .

What's all this about a coatrack? Are there any other unusual, um, projectiles, I should make a note to watch out for, on missions?

It's one of those unwritten rules - any mission I ain't on, Nate winds up getting clobbered by an inanimate object, like a coatrack or Wolverine.

"Just a Nathan thing"? I don't think I like that phrasing, Jamie... it implies things.

Well, you are unusually prone to attracting coatracks, Nathan...

You went in the lake once, Colbert. Just keep it up.

So I suppose that Rachel would not be entertained by dancing animated coatracks?

[identity profile] x-cable.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Rachel would be thoroughly entertained. Rachel's mother would probably be thoroughly entertained. Her father, however, would be plotting a terrible revenge.

Would this be the same father that I have to have training with this evening, because if so, I think I will just put my sketchbook ... somewhere... else.

Compromise? You can create the dancing coatracks so long as they don't follow me around.

[identity profile] x-tarot.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Now where is the fun in that?

[identity profile] x-cable.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Hit by a coatrack that someone threw by hand from across the street and several floors belong me. That wasn't a coatrack, it was a missile.

Fortunately, Shiro is also a very good catch.

Improvisation... well, he needed to be able to strike from a distance to take me out, since I was on the roof of the building across the street playing switchboard. He gave Scott, Haroun, and Kylun some considerable difficulty hand-to-hand inside the building, too. So in a way he had both options covered there.

[identity profile] x-cable.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
... I honestly don't remember. I was switchboarding at the time, and telepaths don't generally do well when they're knocked out of deep concentration like that.

I don't remember falling off the building, either. I seem to recall Shiro doing the 'how many fingers am I holding up?' thing...

So what does that tell you? Other than I need a minder?

And any one you _are_ on you wind up chin-deep in muck.

Hey now!

[identity profile] x-juggernaut.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
There was no muck in Vladivostok!

No?

That the one where you got your ass beat by a little girl?

I put that little girl halfway into orbit, thank you very much. Of course, she showed up again when we were dealing with Nate's family reunion, so obviously I didn't chuck her far enough.

You know, I wonder if I could put something into orbit...

You want to do us all a favor?

Try it with some of the crap the kids call music. Just aim for the sun and see if you can hit it.
